X-Vault is an independent, digital research archive engineered to make declassified government records, intelligence files, and historical documents highly accessible. The architecture utilizes local AI and open-source ingestion models to process, transcribe, and structure tens of thousands of complex primary-source pages for the public.
The archive is built, managed, and maintained by Christopher Smoot, a software developer. The project leverages a custom-built, headless ingestion pipeline to ensure that historically significant datasets—from MKUltra to the JFK Assassination files—can be easily searched and read, even on low-bandwidth mobile connections.
